Applications are invited for the post of Research Assistant to work in the Trinity Translational Medicine Institute, Trinity Centre for Health Sciences, St James Hospital, Dublin. The appointee will join the TB Immunology research group and work as part of a team of post-doctoral scientists and graduate students led by Professor Joseph Keane. Our group uses cell and molecular biology techniques to study macrophage and dendritic cell responses to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. Our research seeks to develop new therapies to boost host immunity to TB. Techniques used include cell culture, flow cytometry, DNA/RNA extraction, transfection, RT-PCR, confocal microscopy, metabolic flux assays, western blotting and High Content Analysis. The position is funded for 1 year in the first instance, with the possibility of renewal for a further 3 years.
